ABSOLUTELY Fabulous star Jennifer Saunders has announced that she and Jennifer Lumley will no longer be creating the sitcom.
The hit sitcom ran for 20 years from 1992 till 2012.
And earlier this year, Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley returned to their roles as PR’s Edina and Patsy for Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie.
The film was a runaway hit and earned the pair an army of new fans.
It’s little surprise seeing as it featured a number of big name stars including Lily Cole, Alexa Chung, Kate Moss, Chris Colfer, Stella McCartney and Rylan Clark-Neal.
However, instead of riding the wave of success, writer and creator Jennifer instead insisted that they will be no more episodes or films.
In news that will devastate fans, Jennifer told the Daily Mail: “I’m not doing anything more with Ab Fab.”

She added: “That. Is. It. I can’t see the point of doing anything else with it, really.
“It just takes so long. There’s lots of other stuff I’d like to do. Plus I’d like to spend time with my grandchildren.
“So, if I did Ab Fab as well that would just stop me doing anything new, or thinking of any other ideas or having a different job or whatever.”
And if fans think the actress will change her mind years down the line, they’ll have a very long wait.
Jennifer continued: “What? Ha! If someone suggested Ab Fab: The Musical?
“We’d be so old. This is like taking geriatrics out now.”
However, the star did give viewers hope that the dynamic duo would be back on our screens once more, albeit not on Absolutely Fabulous.
She confessed that she’s planning on a brand new comedy sitcom, this time with a very contemporary feel.
“Gentrification. Hipsters versus the old East End, that sort of idea,” she explained.
“I always wanted to do a Rising Damp-style sitcom about a house full of people, of all sorts.”
Looks like fans will have to get their Ab Fab fix elsewhere from no on!
