Ralph Lauren brought summer vibes to New York Fashion Week on Wednesday (15Feb17).
The American fashion house added a palette of neutral spring shades and vibrant summer hues to a frosty New York, with all offerings on offer instantly as part of Lauren’s second see now, buy now, show.
The setting for the catwalk was the label’s uptown store on Madison Avenue, and it attracted an A-list crowd, including Girls star Allison Williams, Emmy Rossum, Jessica Biel and Camilla Belle.
A host of famous faces were also seen on the runway, with Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid and Taylor Hill walking for Lauren in front of a pretty floral backdrop of 100,000 orchids.
“It’s a little bit exotic,” Lauren said, reports WWD.
The show opened with neutral colours of sand, ivory and beige, with hints of gold also presented. Kendall rocked an easy to wear beige blazer teamed with a classic Lauren line-up of white shirt and coordinating trousers. An animal skin bag gave the glamorous day look added safari edge.
Lightweight jackets filled Lauren’s usual sport luxe quota, with loose fitting blazers and wide trousers updating his usual preppy look.
The daytime looks soon gave way to evening glamour, with Bella stunning in a burnt orange satin poncho, proving sporty vibes can also work for night time too.
Flowing silk evening gowns appeared in green, violet, and champagne varieties, with the rich jewel colours sure to be a hit on the red carpet soon.
Lauren also made a statement with black dresses, featuring skin flashing cut outs along the midriff.
And thanks to the light fabrics used on a lot of the later looks, Lauren fans will be able to mix up the new collection for both day and night wear.
