Taylor Swift is, of course, typically the frontwoman of any performance with which she involves herself.
The tables turned on Saturday night, when she enjoyed an evening in with Broadway star Todrick Hall, and some assembled family and friends.
On Monday, Hall uploaded a pair of Instagram videos in which the pop star accompanied him at the piano whilst he sang Part Of Your World from the 1989 Disney film The Little Mermaid.

‘Throwback to two nights ago’: On Monday, Todrick Hall posted two Instagram videos of himself singing Part Of Your World at Taylor Swift’s Rhode Island beach house, accompanied by his pop star hostess herself
In the first video, he turned to her and, as Howard Ashman’s lyric dictates, asked: ‘Strollin’ along down a – what’s that word again?’
The 26-year-old mistakenly responded: ‘Beach,’ prompting other friends gathered at her seaside Rhode Island house to correct her: ‘Street!’
With a faint grin, the Bad Blood singer vamped: ‘Nope,’ eliciting a laugh from the room and continuing to play Alan Menken’s tune as the 31-year-old began to belt.
Crowd-pleasers: The friends and family gathered in the room all seemed to greatly enjoy the evening’s entertainment
Hall, who’s currently appearing on Broadway as Lola in Kinky Boots, demonstrated his showmanship by rising from the piano bench and twirling about the room.
At one point, he sat on the coffee table and lifted his legs, kicking his feet lightly up and down in a facsimile of swimming.
He’d captioned the first video: ‘Disney fun with @taylorswift on the piano. Throwback to two nights ago. Resting now to be back onstage tomorrow. Good night. #littlemermaid #alanmenken #ursula #scuttle #fork #shellbra #novoice’.
Getting into the spirit: The 31-year-old took the line: ‘What’s a fire, and why does it – what’s the word – burn?’ rather literally
As the second video got rolling, the American Idol semi-finalist was still twirling this way and that, the You Belong With Me singer still at the piano.
Hall got rather literal with the line: ‘What’s a fire, and why does it – what’s the word – burn?’ plucking a candle from the coffee table and pretending to singe his finger.
At the end of the song, he slid into his falsetto for a Mariah Carey-esque melisma, repeating the final line: ‘Part of that world…’ to frenzied applause.
Trying it on for size: Hall’s currently appearing in Kinky Boots at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre in Broadway, where Swift visited him last Wednesday
