The world’s most stunning models stormed the runway on Wednesday night (30Nov16) for the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
After months of preparation and planning, 51 beauties showed off their best assets in a range of underwear from the American lingerie giant at the show, held in the Grand Palais in Paris.
The show was split into six themed sections; Road Ahead, Mountain Romance, Pink Nation, Secret Angel, Dark Angel and Bright Night Angel, with the models’ outfits and wings reflecting the themes.
“It’s been a dream for a long time,” Edward Razek, chief marketing officer of Victoria’s Secret and executive producer of the show, said about the Parisian location, reports WWD.
“It doesn’t get any bigger than this in the fashion world. Paris is the home of fashion. It’s the home of lingerie and it’s the home of fashion shows. It’s a very big deal to be at the Grand Palais.”
Kendall Jenner looked racy in red, complete with thigh high boots and bright blue feathered wings, reminiscent of a carnival costume. She went for a darker, more Gothic look later on, donning a white long sleeved lace corset and matching panties, with a black feather back piece.
Gigi and Bella Hadid, who are the first-ever siblings to strut their stuff for Victoria’s Secret, also wowed in a variety of barely there get ups.
However Gigi narrowly avoided a wardrobe malfunction during the Secret Angel segment, when one of her chest straps snapped. She was wearing huge black wings strapped in with velvet ties and a black lace bra. Luckily the snap didn’t cause her wings to fall, and she managed to finish her walk.
Despite Jasmine Tookes already showing off her $3 million (£2.3 million) fantasy bra, the jewelled piece still drew gasps of awe when it was showcased. It was created by jeweller Eddie Borgo using 9000 precious stones, taking 700 hours to create and weighing in at more than 450 carats.
The 1,300 strong audience at the Grand Palais were treated to music from The Weeknd, Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga, who also got in on the fashion action by wearing bespoke pieces by Parisian designer Azzedine Alaia.
Fans can catch the show when it’s screened on 5 December (16).
